We’re thrilled to welcome four wonderful new authors to Panhandle Creek Press and our children’s book imprint, Ardea Herodias Books. We’ll feature each of our authors in future posts, but for now please join us in welcoming them all!
Stewart Bellus grew up in Brooklyn NY. Like many boys of that era, he spent much of his time playing, watching and talking about sports, but during college his horizons expanded. He studied history, worked as a student teacher, traveled more extensively, and took up a new pastime: writing fiction. Look for Stewart’s Middle Grade/Young Adult novel, The Blue Pearl, to be released by Ardea Herodias Books in spring of 2027.
Logophile & devourer of books, Ashley Holloway is a nurse, writer, editor and manuscript consultant who teaches writing classes and healthcare leadership in Calgary, AB. She has co-authored three books for adults and writes children’s books with Lilac Arch Press & Lightbox Learning. Ashley serves as Editorial Director at Unleash Creatives. Look for Ashley Holloway’s children’s book, King Kevin, The Story Collector, Coming in April of 2027.
Teresa Price is a speech-language pathologist and author who resides in the beautiful countryside of northeastern Kansas with her fabulous family of four. She has always enjoyed writing poems and stories, with an extra special fondness for a “sweet little poem with rhythm and rhyme.” She has recently shared this love on a broader scale by publishing her first (rhythmic and rhyming) picture books. Look for her latest children’s book, The Green Ball, to be released in March of 2027.
Sammie Vance is an Indiana native who founded Sammie’s Buddy Bench Project in 2017 when she was just eight years old. She wanted an easy way for kids to make friends, so she started collecting plastic bottle caps that could be turned into a Buddy Bench for her school. The project has been a huge hit and there are hundreds of Buddy Benches in schools across the country. Look for our new edition of Sammie’s book, Inspire the World: A Kid’s Journey to Making a Difference, coming winter of 2026.
