About the Author:
Laurie Fairchild earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from University of Wyoming, and a Masters in Water Resources Science from University of Minnesota.
Laurie started her career in Alaska. She worked as a biological technician during the infamous Exxon Valdez Oil Spill. Later, she conducted seabird productivity work on the Pribilof Islands in the Bering Sea. Laurie spent her entire career working with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. She retired in 2019 as a habitat and wildlife biologist working with landowners in Minnesota
Laurie’s debut novel, Never Only, asks the questions: How would Mother Nature feel about our current reality? What might she be inclined to do about it? With the insight only a habitat and wildlife biologist can bring to these questions, Laurie Fairchild leads the reader on a wild ride with humor, poignancy, and the highest stakes imaginable.
