Micaela Myers began writing poems before she could write herself, appearing at her mother’s bedside, chanting, “I’ve got a poem, I’ve got a poem!” After earning her bachelor’s degree in English, she went on to pursue an MFA in writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. After graduation, she garnered publications in many literary journals, including the Mississippi Review online, Boston Literary Magazine, Short Story, Paper Street, and Spire.
A simultaneous submission accepted to City Works San Diego taught Micaela a hard lesson when famed writer Amy Tan later wanted to publish it in the L.A. Times magazine fiction section. Micaela’s stories also took first place in the River Oak Review’s fiction contest and Binnacle’s Ultra-Short Competition.
In her day job, Micaela is an award-winning magazine editor and the author of three equestrian books.

Her first book for Panhandle Creek Press, due for release Christmas 2026, will tell the story of Superhero Kids from around the world who are using their creativity and passion to make a positive impact.
