About the Panhandle Creek Press Writer’s Residency
Panhandle Creek Press offers an annual two-week residency in northern Colorado at 8750ft elevation. With southern exposure and panoramic views, the residency offers a quiet place to focus on your work-in-progress while immersed in rugged Rocky Mountain beauty. Just steps away from nature trails and the Roosevelt National Forest, writers can find inspiration and rejuvenation on any number of beautiful local hikes, or relax on their private deck and watch the wildlife meander along the Panhandle Creek.

With a private entrance and deck, the Panhandle Creek Press Residency provides the solitude needed to focus on your work-in-progress. Special care has been taken to insulate the residence from sound, because we understand the need

Outside, you’ll enjoy the private deck, including a covered picnic area with gas barbecue, and the wide uncovered deck with gas fire pit and hot tub where you can watch the wildlife and birds during the day and the stars at night.
Though your living quarters are quiet and secluded, you are not isolated. Panhandle Creek Press provides a breakfast of your choice. We provide a menu from which to choose and are happy to accommodate special dietary needs. Our Writer-in-Residence is welcome to access the work-out room, library, laundry facilities, or primary kitchen and living area.
