Preview of Coming Events
Panhandle Creek Press will officially launch on January 1st. In 2026, we look forward to creating beautiful books and to welcoming authors and artists to our Writers Residency in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Until then, we’re laying the foundation for a successful and sustainable press that honors the work that authors, illustrators, and other publishing professionals dedicate to creating beautiful books and getting them into the hands of readers. I’ll write more about that in the coming months. For now, I’d like to share two of our recent releases!

Book Launch Celebration
Nancy discussed her writing process and read to a captivated audience. Carmel Mawle shared that she was moved by the love and compassion of Nancy’s portraits.

“It’s a small book with a big heart. Nancy captures both the strength and vulnerability of the human spirit with love and compassion.”
“Collected Wisdom Series”
Compiled and Edited by Carmel Mawle
Illustrated by Carmel Mawle
Hardcover, 32 Pages, 8.5×8.5
Description:
A little girl ventures into the snowy forest to deliver a delicious gift to a hungry bunny. Now he must choose whether to keep the gift for himself, or share with his friends. It’s not an easy decision, because he is very hungry! Bunny’s choice begins a long journey through growing snowdrifts, but he learns he is not alone when the other forest animals come to his aid.
This is an illustrated tale of a kindness that spreads through a wintry night. Woven throughout are brief versions of “the golden rule” as interpreted by many different faiths and traditions from around the world-just enough to spark further thought and family discussion.
The Golden Rule is Spreading Kindness
We at Panhandle Creek Press and Ardea Herodias Books are happy to announce that 10% of the net proceeds from The Golden Rule will go to The Iris Center, a nonprofit clinic in Fort Collins, CO, offering affordable, affirming healthcare that honors the whole person. We look forward to sharing more in the future about this health clinic that exemplifies the golden rule – treating others as we would like to be treated ourselves.
