Laurie Fairchild earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from University of Wyoming, and a Masters in Water Resources Science from University of Minnesota.
Laurie started her career in Alaska, working as a biological technician during the infamous Exxon Valdez Oil Spill. After that, she conducted seabird productivity work on the Pribilof Islands in the Bering Sea for several summers.
Laurie spent her entire career working in various positions with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, retiring in 2019 as a habitat and wildlife biologist working with landowners in Minnesota.
Laurie’s debut novel, Never Only, asks the question: how would Mother Nature feel about our current reality, and what might she be inclined to do about it?
